Even as a young organization, StartOut’s work has already helped to create many “success stories” within the LGBT community. Since our launch in the summer of 2009, StartOut participants have provided us with stories of how StartOut: (1) helped them find co-founders or employees for their businesses; (2) helped them find a mentor to provide guidance and support for their startup; (3) helped them find funding to build or grow their company; and (4) helped them find business development opportunities for their businesses, among many other stories. We’ve also inspired LGBT youth to consider an entrepreneurial career path through our school and youth outreach programs.
It’s our belief that economic empowerment leads to political empowerment - and by helping people to create, build, and expand their companies today, we are ultimately creating the next generation of leaders who will become some of the greatest supporters of LGBT rights in the future.
Yet our work towards economic empowerment of the LGBT community can only be done with your help!
