In our first event, Dream Team I: Choosing the Right People, Right from the Start, we looked at elements of developing a strong, cohesive founding team. With that in mind, we are excited to provide an opportunity for you to meet the right people at our upcoming event, Dream Team II: Building your Startup Network. This event will combine aspects of speed networking with two brief pitches from local entrepreneurs. Join us and discover your next co-founder, key employee, advisor or investor! StartOut Board member, Michael Witbrock will start the evening by pitching his startup Curious Cat, an AI that learns and organizes the world around you. It won't just suggest a coffee shop - it'll find one that's open, has laptop power, enough bandwidth for Skype, and cappuccino served in proper cups. Our second pitch will be by a member of Aria Foods Group LLC, a creative food & beverage product development company, bringing culinary innovations to life through research, development and commercialization of private label and branded consumer packaged goods. When: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM (CST) Location: Adlucent Lobby 2130 South Congress Ave, Austin, TX Appetizers and drinks will be provided $20 ticket fee or $15 for early bird sales Please feel free to forward this invitation to friends and colleagues who you may feel will benefit from attending. When it comes to startups, the proper founder team can often mean the ultimate difference between profitable success and disappointing struggle. So it is essential to give some serious thought to finding co-founders and putting together an initial team with the right mix of personalities, skills, and relationships--and to think about how best to incentivize them. In fact, many successful entrepreneurs agree that after the core concept itself, putting together the right team is the second-most important determinant of success. On the concept, you're on your own, but when it comes to putting together the right team for the job, we can help. Join us on December 7th at Handlebar for a round table discussion of key strategies and pitfalls to keep in mind when putting together a team of co-founders. Our panel of entrepreneurs and investors will share insight into how to avoid discord, increase productivity, and maximize your company's value in the eyes of investors simply by being strategic about who you invite to join you as you set out to build your dream. In the new year, we'll be hosting an event aimed at actually introducing you to potential co-founders, so this informal event will serve as an essential primer for anyone aiming to launch their venture in 2013.
